Discover Goldyburgers

Goldyburgers has become one of my go-to spots whenever I’m in Forest Park, and it’s not hard to see why. Located at 7316 Circle Ave #1165, Forest Park, IL 60130, United States, this diner offers a unique combination of classic American comfort food with a twist that keeps both locals and visitors coming back. On my first visit, I was immediately struck by the casual, welcoming vibe. The décor isn’t over-the-top, but it’s clean, cozy, and makes you feel like you could settle in for hours without a care.

What stands out most is their menu, which goes beyond just the standard burger and fries. I tried their signature burger, which was perfectly cooked with a juicy patty, fresh toppings, and a toasted bun that held everything together without falling apart-a problem I’ve experienced at other burger joints. The combination of flavors shows that there’s a careful attention to detail in the kitchen. I’ve spoken to a few regulars, and many of them rave about the seasonal specials. For instance, their mushroom Swiss burger is an absolute favorite during the fall, and the way they caramelize the onions demonstrates a simple process executed with precision that elevates the whole dish.

During my visits, I’ve noticed the staff’s commitment to consistency and quality. One afternoon, the restaurant was packed, and yet every order came out in a timely manner, fresh, and still hot. According to recent industry studies, diners often rank service speed and food quality as the top factors for repeat visits, and Goldyburgers hits both marks. This aligns with reviews I’ve read from reputable sources like Yelp and TripAdvisor, where patrons consistently give high marks for both taste and hospitality.

For those interested in trying something different, their menu also includes sides and appetizers that rival the main dishes. The loaded fries, topped with cheese, bacon, and a hint of jalapeño, offer a nice balance of spice and indulgence. I’ve also noticed that they pay attention to dietary preferences, offering customizable options for those who prefer lighter meals or vegetarian alternatives. In a time when dining choices are increasingly varied, providing flexible menu items adds a layer of trustworthiness that many establishments overlook.

From an expert perspective, maintaining such quality in a busy setting requires precise kitchen workflow and sourcing ingredients carefully. Goldyburgers sources fresh produce locally whenever possible, which not only supports nearby suppliers but also ensures flavor integrity. I had a conversation with the manager once about their process, and it turns out they have specific protocols for ingredient rotation, cooking temperatures, and plating consistency-methods that are in line with best practices recommended by culinary associations.

Another point worth noting is the diner’s location. Nestled conveniently on Circle Ave, it’s easy to access and has ample parking, which can be a challenge in more congested areas. The location contributes significantly to its popularity; it’s visible, approachable, and easy to remember, making it a natural stop for both casual lunches and dinner outings.

Goldyburgers also fosters a community atmosphere. Local families, students, and professionals all mingle here, creating a lively environment that feels more like a gathering spot than just a place to eat. From my experience, the combination of great food, attentive service, and welcoming ambiance establishes it as a trusted choice for anyone looking for a satisfying meal in Forest Park.

Whether you’re a burger enthusiast or someone seeking a relaxed spot to enjoy hearty American fare, Goldyburgers delivers on every front. The consistent quality, carefully crafted menu items, and attention to both flavor and service demonstrate a level of expertise and experience that makes it more than just another diner-it’s a destination.

  • DISCLAIMER: This place is a dive bar in the truest sense of the phrase. Like actually dank and sticky. If that isn’t your thing, move on. Also, it is a CASH ONLY business. OK, this place is almost 100 years old. It is like walking into a time warp going back to 1982. If you think the exterior looks rough, just wait until you go inside. The regulars all seem to know each other, because this place is a neighborhood bar. I’m also gonna guess that a lot of Irish and cops hang out here. All of that said, it has a full bar with very reasonably priced drinks. And the menu has awesome bar food. The burgers are actually worth it. Legit good stuff. If you’re up for a little adventure, this is a cool place. But don’t be surprised when you walk in and see it. I warned you.

  • This is a dive bar. It is "Cash only." There is an ATM in the bar. They have a dining room with 6 booths and a few tables. The menu is basic burgers, sandwiches, and fried foods. They also have an iceberg lettuce salad. We got the traditional Buffalo wings. They were served in a paper-lined plastic basket, and our plates were paper plates. They are dipping in Buffalo sauce, so you are going to go through a lot of napkins. Our burgers came out on Styrofoam plates, so it's a little more sturdy. I got the 1/2 lbs Royal Blue Burger (blue cheese and bacon). My friend got the Big Daddy a 3/4 lbs patty with mushrooms and bacon, and your choice of cheese. The burgers were substantial and cooked to order; mine was medium, and my friend's was medium-rare, just like we ordered. The bacon was crispy and thick, not fast food bacon. It is served on a hamburger bun. The fries were thicker cut than McDonald's. We were surprised the soda pop was $4.50 each; we felt that it was high. The burgers were $14 - $15. The decor was a dive bar OG. There was an antique tin ceiling (the Marque said "Goldyburger since 1926" the ceiling could be original. ) and various Retro Irish bar signs. One Miller sign read "Céad Míle Fáilte" (a hundred thousand welcomes). Our server was good but not attentive or friendly. While we were there, a patron returned from their car rather upset, they timed their meter incorrectly, and got a ticket. Two burgers, two Cokes, and a small order of wings were $54.

  • Tasty burgers, cold beers, good times. Almost a century old, Goldyburgers is a classic dive bar time capsule with layers of worn in charm. The food is good, very hot and fresh, always made to order. Royal burger was great, I’m already looking forward to the next one.

  • Came here to have some beers with my dad and friends. It's a great dive bar and has been around for quite a while. Gave the food 3 stars because I didn't eat at all. However, their burgers are supposed to be pretty good.

  • I’ve been meaning to go here for quite some time and finally made it! Burgers are good, beers are cold and our service was very kind. As others have stated, this is a dive bar, but I loved that everyone was speaking at a respectful level, it wasn’t crazy loud and our server was very attentive. Remember to bring cash, but if you forget, ATM on site.

  • Loved the olive burger cooked medium with Swiss cheese - definitely ordering again. The combo platter appetizer was decent. I’d order it again. I liked our servers a lot.

  • Sorry, I don't drive. It's most difficult for me to get there. I like to take the bull by it's horns. I like first hand information. I LIKE burgers. Unfortunately, Goldyburgers is just a little too far for me to get to right now. Maybe I can shmoose someone to take me. (I am a persuasive person. I can trade favor for favor). My eyesight is not good. I cannot renew my driver's license. There's no problems, only solution's.

  • If you want a great burger run, don’t walk to Goldyburger. This place is conveniently located right off Circle Ave/ Franklin in Forest Park. It’s pretty walkable from downtown Oak Park and if you live in the area or just visiting this place can’t be missed. They only take cash, but have an ATM onsite. The ambiance is classic vintage Irish pub. The classic metal pedestal bar stools are flanked around a wooden wrap around bar. The wooden booths and the checkered table cloths leave you to imagine the history and all the folks that have crossed its threshold in its 99th year. It’s the neighborhood bar you can come inside and stay a while. There is so much history on the walls with Irish blessings, cheesy sport memorabilia and vintage beer decor. It all starts when you walk in the door under the Old Style marquee. There is an intimate enclosed outdoor courtyard with picnic tables and a flat screen TV. While we didn’t eat it outside, it would be the perfect gathering with friends or a small get-to-gether. The menu is small and simple, food is served on plastic baskets and paper plates. The burger was juicy, hot and full of flavor. Make sure you have a pile of napkins, because you’re gonna need it. The fries and onion rings which we had as an appetizer were perfectly crispy and hot. When you have a taste for onion rings look no further, because they hit the spot. My husband had the chicken sandwich which was equally juicy and grilled to perfection. The beer was ice cold and service was fast and efficient. If fine china is important to you, this isn’t the place for you. If you’re looking for a vintage Irish pub off the beaten path with good burgers and cold beer look no further! The food is good, the service is better, minus the fine china. We will be back, but next time our spot will be flanked at the bar getting to know the locals!
